Sleeping Babes

The girls start in their own beds each night but, eventually, they both end up joining us in ours. Saturday we woke up early to prepare for a long drive and saw them cuddled up together. It was so cute we took a picture, without a flash because we were afraid it would wake them.

The TRUE Princess

Meghan comes up to me and asks for a ponytail, a dress and some beads. As soon as I put them on, she exclaims:

"Mommy, I'm a TRUE Princess! Now I'm a TRUE Princess!"

I laughed so hard. She delights in being a True Princess like Dora the Explorer and insists that the ponytail is essential.

Tawny, Tawny, Oh so Bonny, How does your Garden Grow?

Remember the gravel garden in my front yard? Well, we pulled it out finally! Now I have lovely plants growing. It'll take them a while to fill it in better, but they'll get there. I like to look out my window at my pretty flowers.

AND my herb garden!

And here is how we got there:

Meghan is a good worker.

Here's me surveying a job well done.

Here is how Addy helped: by staying out of the dirt!

Happy Birthday, Kyle!

We had Kyle's birthday party recently. At the tender age of 26, he is still a young feller.

Just kidding. That's Silas, happy and healthy!

Make a wish...

Blow them out...

Solemn victory dance.

Meghan's Turn!

What's in here?

Ooh?

A BOX!!!!!!!

He got some orchids (earlier that week), Set, a snake puzzle and Gordian's Knot. We had quite a party with movies, cake, ice cream and a rambunctious game of Bandits (which ended with the eviction of the non-resident party goers due to noise restrictions).

Tut Tut, It Looks Like Rain

We have an umbrella tree in the front yard. It drops leaves a branch at a time. Meghan calls them her umbrellas and carries them around the yard.

Tree Climber

Meghan loves to climb our loquat tree. She has gotten quite good at it. Whenever she goes outside, it is one of the first places she runs to.
